Blogiversary.

blog birthday one year anniversary first candle candles party celebrationIt’s my blog birthday!

One year ago today I posted my first blog post at robustorbust.com. Though, back then it was .wordpress.com đŸ˜‰

I was not sure what this medium would come to offer me or where the journey would take me. I’m still not sure. But I’m very glad to have unearthed my passion for blogging. I’m glad to have stuck with it a full year, a busy year.

I say this all the time, but I’m glad for this forum. I look forward to the era in life when I have more time and energy to offer. I’m grateful, and proud, of what this blog is, while still looking forward to what it could become.

This is my 155th post. As much as I feel like a fair-weather blogger, that’s a damn good track record for a year with a preschooler and an infant, school and internship, the roller coaster of entrepreneurship,  and the new adventure of paleo and crossfit (among other things). It’s been quite a year. I’ve put a lot out there. And, (again!) I’m thankful for to this forum and for the content that creates it. The memories and moments and feelings captured are priceless.

One year ago I needed something of my own. One year ago I was ready to step out of the locked down Facebook and protected Twitter world. One year ago I spent a week or so thinking on a persona, an idea, a catchy, witty, descriptive blog concept/twitter handle. After this year, the word robust will never be the same.

Now it’s like I own it! bwahahahaha…

And one year later, I still love the name, love the idea. As much as life has changed–is changing–it’s still about living large, with strength and power, with depth and authenticity and with the acknowledgement that we’re all a bit rough around the edges.

Robust is still perfect.

Thanks for being along for the ride. Or dropping by. Thanks for the comments and the Facebook likes, or even just the hits. Thanks for the acknowledgment that this is larger than myself. Because really, usually, it’s a pretty vain endeavor. So there’s that.

Looking forward to many more years of vanity and self-indulgence to come.
